Bedfordshire Opportunities For Learning Disabilities – Chairperson

The new Chairperson should have both a knowledge of the type of work undertaken by Bedfordshire Opportunities for Learning Disabilities and a wider involvement with the voluntary sector and other networks. They will have d experience of committee work and demonstrate impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences. The Chairperson will lead and see first-hand how the efficient management of the Board impacts positively on what can be achieved in the interest of the people who use our services.

 

The Chellington Centre - Building & Maintenance

The Chellington Centre is a grade I youth retreat with accommodation for 30. They work with youth groups, schools and other organisations to offer a unique experience away from the school or working environment in a stunning converted church in rural setting in North Beds. The Manager has a varied schedule of maintenance activities through out the year and would welcome volunteer support with tasks that would include fence fixing, furniture repair, interior render and painting tasks and many more challenges to keep on top of this unusual building.

 

Keech Hospice Care - Retail Volunteer - Great Denham Store

Help is needed in the shop and also upstairs, sorting, tagging and steaming donated goods, providing customer service and displaying stock. Over 16’s will also operate the till.  Volunteers who are able to undertake slots of 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm are preferred.  

 

Plastic Free Bedford - Social Media Volunteer

If you are passionate about the environment and finding ways to reduce waste, you may be able to help us. We are looking for someone to help grow our online presence and keep our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts exciting and up-to-date. You will need to have some experience of using social media for marketing, either through your work or previous volunteering and be able to write clearly and concisely to create engaging posts and content.  

 

Putnoe Woods Preschool - Charity Trustee

The preschool is particularly keen for a trustee who has knowledge or experience of early years education to join them. As a trustee of this charity you will be part of a voluntary group of people interested in guiding this successful preschool into the future. The trustees meet at least 4 times per year in the evening and are expected to be able to commit to a minimum of one day per year.

 

Wixams Retirement Village – Receptionist

Wixams Retirement Village is looking for someone to assist their receptionist with tasks on reception. You will be able to provide excellent customer service in answering the telephone and taking/relaying messages. You will also answer queries face to face and over the telephone, meeting & greet visitors, and direct and signpost visitors.
