Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service Launches On-Call Firefighter Recruitment Campaign

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has opened its latest recruitment campaign, inviting new applicants to join its team of dedicated on-call firefighters who provide vital support in protecting local communities.

On-call firefighters come from a wide range of backgrounds, balancing firefighting duties with other jobs, businesses, or family responsibilities. Whether responding to fires, road traffic incidents, or water rescues, on-call firefighters are an essential part of Bedfordshire’s emergency response.

To become an on-call firefighter, applicants must live or work within six minutes of an on-call fire station (eight minutes for Woburn), be at least 18 years old, be physically fit, and hold a full UK driving license. The role offers several benefits, including flexible hours, professional training, ongoing support, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the community.
